Terms of Service

1. The service

TicketSplitter is a free tool that lets you photograph a receipt or bill, extracts its content with artificial intelligence, and helps you split the expenses among participants. It is free: there are no paid plans or in-app purchases.

2. Accounts

Creating an account is optional. You can use the service as a guest or sign in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping access to your devices and account secure, and for activity carried out from them.

3. AI parsing: verify the results

Ticket extraction is automated using third-party AI models. It can make mistakes (items, amounts, names, currencies). Always verify the parsed result before relying on it to settle payments. We are not liable for amounts mistakenly calculated or split.

4. Your content and licence

• You keep ownership of the photos you upload.
• You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host your photos, process them with AI, and use the photo and its extracted content to operate the service and improve it (including developing and evaluating our parsing models), for the duration described in our Privacy Policy.
• Only upload receipts you have the right to share, and do not upload images that unlawfully expose third parties' personal data.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the service lawfully and not to: abuse, overload or attempt to disrupt it; scrape or massively automate access to it; or upload unlawful content. We may suspend accounts that breach these rules.

6. Promotions and advertising

While a receipt is being processed, the mobile app and the website may show a full-screen promotion of our own products, which you can close after 5 seconds. Its button only opens the promoted website in your browser. There are no third-party ads.

7. Availability and changes

The service is provided "as available". We may modify or discontinue features, and we may update these terms; the current version is always published here with its date. If a change is material, we will try to announce it in the app.

8. Intellectual property

The app's code, design and branding belong to kukapu. Google, Apple, Gemini, OpenRouter and other named brands are trademarks of their respective owners.

9. Warranty disclaimer and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service (including AI parsing) is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Our liability for damages arising from the service is limited as far as Spanish law allows. Nothing in these terms limits the statutory rights of consumers.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from the app's settings. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law and, where applicable, mandatory EU consumer protection rules. Consumers retain the protection of the mandatory rules of their country of residence.
